What is the correct Gear to wear in Sitka conditions?

Sitka is a rain forest environment, so bring quality rain gear that can keep you dry. Dry suits will be provided as well as life vests and both are required to be worn. (The drysuits are warn over your clothing.) If you wish to not wear a dry suit you will need to sign an additional waiver of release of liability but a life vest is still required. Certain clothing will be advised for different conditions. We have very limited rain shoes/boots at this time so please consider bringing your own. The drysuits will keep your feet dry but your shoes/boots will get wet. You may want to bring goggles/sunglasses and gloves for water spray or rain, it can get chilly with the wind and water spray. Some folks choose to wear beanies and/or baseball hats, just be aware that they can blow off when you are at higher speeds or windy conditions.

What do I bring with me?

We encourage you to bring water, sodas, snacks, etc. Your clothes can be worn under the dry suits. Camera, phone and personal items can be stored in the bow of the jet ski’s.

Do you offer hourly rates?

Right now we offer half day 4 hr and full day 8 hr rates. If they are not rented after your ride. We are adapting to arrive at a hourly rate, so feel free to contact us to discuss your needs if you are looking for something other a 4 hr or 8 hr rental.

Do you offer overnight rentals?

No not at this time. This option will be available next year.

What time is pick up and drop off on daily rentals?

Our hours are from 9am - 7pm seasonally. Are you here on a cruise? We can arrange your pickup. Are you in town for a couple days? Contact us and we can arrange a taxi to our launch site. 

Where can we ride in Sitka Sound?

You can ride most all of Sitka Sound but we suggest you follow our pre-determined routes. If you are fishing we can suggest routes, locations as well. (Additional fees will apply for fishing excursions due to extra cleaning and gear etc)

How old do I have to be to rent a jetski from SJR rentals?

You must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and credit card. Minimum age of passengers with an adult 21yrs or older is 10yrs old.

Is there a security deposit?

Yes, a security deposit of $1,000 per jet ski is required on all rentals. A renter is also responsible for any damage exceeding the $1,000 deposit. Your card will be run for the deposit and rental amount with a full refund of deposit, minus the fuel fee, after the skis have been returned and proper operation /safety evaluation performed.

What payment methods do you accept?

SJR Jetski Rentals accepts cash and credit card. All credit cards and electronic payment will be charged an additional 3%.

What is included with my watercraft rental?

We provide life vests, dry suits, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, flares, rope, paddle, whistles, buoys, and most importantly a marine radio. The ski’s do all have an ice chest attached to the rear for snacks and drinks.

Does the jetski rental include gas?

All of our jet skis will come with a full tank of fuel prior to your excursion. Jet skis will be fueled at the end of the ride when the daily safety check is performed/jet-ski evaluation performed. The fuel charge will come out of your deposit. Renter IS NOT allowed to fuel jet ski.

Do you offer fishing gear?

No, not at this time. If you are are planning to fish you will need to bring your own fishing gear. Be advised an additional cleaning fee will be charged per ski.
